My husband is retired and has insurance through his retirement benefits. He is now working for a small company. After several years of employment, he has been told that he has to take their insurance. If he does not sign up they will do it for him. He does not want their insurance, he needs to keep the one he has , he will need it when he leaves that job. That cant possibly have the power to tell him he has to spend his paycheck on their insurance. I had him fill out the waiver sheet and hand it in. Don't see how they can sign him up when he has signed a waiver declining coverage.
Can employers make their insurance manditory?

The employer cannot force there employee, we have all the rights to say no especially that your husband already insured from other insurance company. The insurance that the employer offer is only an optional but it's not mandatory, you can check my insurance company if you want to ask more details www.jsdowney.com . I know sometimes you can transfer your existing insurance to the new one especially if it's from the company, but I need to check the exact details on that but still you can't force anyone.
