Its iffy. The school should notice that you're missing so many days without excuses. Thats why they need excuses, so they know you're ACTUALLY alright :P
If the school notices this, they're supposed to launch an investigation (calling your home to check on you, that kinda stuff)
If they get no response after a few tries, the only next logical thing to do is call the police. They'll send out a cop car to check on you. If things are ok, they'll report it back to the school and everything will be fine. If things are not ok, for example, you're covered in bruises and scars or you're obviously starved, then the police report it to the DCF.
DCF will normally make the effort to provide food stamps if your family is starving, but if its obvious signs of abuse, then its reason enough to take you and incarcerate the people hurting you.
Its a really long process, so if its something small like being sick, just give your teacher a note from your parents saying you were sick. If its something big, talk to your teacher or school counselor. That's why they're there.
Normally school's don't mind missing a day here or there, its when you miss a few days or so without informing them that they have to really look into it. If you miss too many days of school, the school might have a basis for holding you back a year or making you attend summer school to make up the missed material.
