Hi guys,

The supermarket buys a box of 40 cans of soup at cost £20.94.
It sells one can of soup at a sales price of £1.19.
Thus, it sells 40 cans at a sales price of 40 x £1.19 = £47.6
The difference between purchase price an d sales price is
£47.60 - £20.94 = £26.66.
But this is not pure profit. There are a lot of costs to be paid in a supermarket: From electricity expenses for light, refrigeration air conditioning and so on, over wages to taxes.Fortunately, therefore, they sell not only soup at the store.
Thank you very much!
