Can any student miss a day from school because of chinese new years?

for me yes because its a sign of respect to them especially if they are chinese

for most Chinese, Chinese year is definitely the most important festival. this festival also celebrated in most countries in East Aisa not only China.
In China mainland, school will be on their winter break during that certain day which followed by 'Chinese Calendar'.
That will be very thoughtful if U.S. school could think of giving at least of for that day.
