My HOA states only six guest total per household per keycard can enter. We are only allowed one keycard per household which we had to pay $25 for. My husband and I have six children. Also, I took my kids to the pool and the keycard turned the lock green but it didn't open. There was a security guard that was on he inside and stated he had it locked from the inside. He made me give him my ID, a utility bill and stated we had to have that along with the keycard to enter. He then proceeded to write our information on some sort of log and then asked if we were homeowners or renters. Needless to say, I was furious. Does anyone know if this is legal?

The HOA has such a lousy reputation that you have to be pretty sleepy to get involved with one. You can hire a lawyer and whine and cry all you want, and the HOA does not even have to defend itself because you signed away all your rights. A court will not touch a deed restriction.
