Can a landlord show apartment if tenant is now renewing lease he. refuses to let us?

If he is living there and calls it his abode then legally the entry rights are his. The only exceptions to this is if he is under some kind of legal ruling as he is in violation of his lease agreement or rent arrears have given you leave to evict.
