If the dollar died today and we suddenly found ourselves having to survive by barter and trade. Would the christian be able to thrive in a system like that and maintain true to his moral cinvictions?

This is a very interesting question. Thought-provoking. I would say, yes he could survive... after all in the early days of Christianity many survived in this type of economy to carry on the Christian name. They may not thrive, meaning become very wealthy because that often takes some deception and taking advantage of others for your own gain, but they would survive. Some would argue that God always provides enough for His true believers and faithful. Also, true Christians wouldn't seek to thrive, just to have enough for themselves and their families to live on and they would then use the excess to help others. Farmers, shepherds, fisherman etc have and would continue to survive by trading their goods for a fair exchange. Plus, many live off of the land even today.
