Its pronounced (Ma-resse) I think over the time names have become for both men and women but what do you guys think

i would keep maryse for the girls name and maurice for the boy it might be how it is sounding but at the same it could go either way but you can settle in the middle and just spell them different i think you still would have to set back and wonder it could be spelled differently give a edge to the name its self
