My friend and I want to go see a small local band play at our local venue. They're an alternative rock band. My parents are perfectly fine with it as long as my friend comes with me. We have been to the venue many times before and I know my way around there and we are also very responsible and won't do dumb things and know if we need any help then we can always ask someone who works there. We don't get into trouble and like I said we've been to the venue many times before and dealt with much larger and rougher crowds. Still, my friend's parents think we're too young and also don't like the type of show that it is. Do you think that it would be ok for us to go without a parent? What can I do to try to convince my friend's parents that it's ok for her to come? We just want to help support our favorite local band. Thank you!

Restrictions depend largely on the venue itself - especially if alcohol is available! My daughter is the same age and I always let her and her best friend go to concerts - as long as there is at least one person who is over 21 to accompany them. I'm sure that as soon as they enter the venue they split up, but I know that whoever is accompanying them is watching at all times.
