That is a pretty simple problem because the top and bottom are horizontal -- no conversions required. You just need to get into your text book and learn how to do it.
The line A(-5,3), B(1,3) is horizontal, 6 units long.
The line C(4,-1), D(-2,-1) is horizontal, 6 units long.
Since top and bottom are the same value, there is no conversion required. The area is simply 6 x 4. Get into your text material and study it until that seems obvious. You need to understand this concept perfectly.
