I have a fairly new battery in my 1978 Cadillac Seville. If I measure its performance, it brings 12.8 volts. If the car is running, it delivers 14.8 volts, what means, alternator is okay. When I turn the ignition key, the car will not start, it just clicks, as if the battery is empty. Starting only works, when I connect a second battery. what can I do, what might be wrong?

Get a battery charger and boost it. I think that should fix it.
battery was fully charged, but it seems to be broken. replaced it with another battery of same size and mesurements (voltage, amperes) and now it works, thank U. Will bring battery back for warranty replacement.
the new batterie had an error, so I replaced it within guarantee period for free. Additionally I had to fix the wires on the starters solenoid pack. thank U
I thought so alredy, but I use the original size (and Ampère rate) and it was working before I left the car ouside for 2 month without accelerating it.
