Broken fingers how would they heal?

for a story im working on

three different scenarios.
one his hand is stepped on would that break some fingers? if someone was running or stomping?
bludgeoning object like hammer or metal pole or rock etc. that would break his whole hand right? any way it would only break the ones specified?
and an incorrect punch at someone, and if hitting someone wouldnt do it would hitting a wall?

i want the fingers to be disfigured or maybe without proper movement but have the rest of the hand usefull.

The fingers broken are the left pinky and ring finger.
