Basically I'm looking for a book/movie/tv show where the main plot revolves around the main character making a deal with someone or doing something crazy to bring back a loved one from the dead.

Well that's simple. You are more looking for a book or movie, but have you ever tried to expand that horizon? I got the series for you!!! Fullmetal Alchemist is all about that! Bringing a love one back with a crazy price. I don't know if your into that or not, but check it out. You don't want to watch sub unless you like subtitles so I would suggest Dub. If your not into anime then that's not really for you.
