This is a probably hopeless but I'm hoping someone might recognise this book and tell me the title.
I remember it's about this girl that thinks she's smarter than everyone else, she gets put in this group at school where she thinks she doesn't belong.
She has her hair in plaits on the sides of her head like Princess Leia and she gets a crush on one of the boys in the group so she starts using hand cream in case he touches her hands (I think they do trust exercises so maybe like a support group?) but then she thinks he might like callouses so she stops.
And it turns out the teacher/counselor is trying to poison her with poisonous nail varnish, it's really weird, and I think one of the teenage boys in the group is actually an undercover officer.
Again, I know this is a long shot but I can't remember any more and it's really annoying!
