A bit detailed & gross but I have some small booger crust (kinda gooey) wrapped around the bent part of my L shaped nose piercing. I tried cleaning it off with bith a dry & wet q-tip. Neither seemed to do the job. I'm scared of irritating it or causing myself to get a keloid. Is it best to leave it be or what is a better way to remove the booger crust wrapped around it? Please help!!

it sounds likea fresh pierceing mabe on that has just been done mabe if thats the case i would take it out clean it with hydrogen peroxide and reinsert it thats about the only way i can think you can clean it why you have it out clean the piercing with hydrogen peroxide to or you will have to wait till the piercing is healing better to do it
Do NOT take out new piercings! Especially a nose piercing as it closes faster than pretty much any other piercing. If it is too new it can close up in the few minutes it takes to clean. Not to mention that it is damaging to the piercing, can cause infection and make it take longer to heal. Also hydrogen peroxide is a big no no for piercings. Actually for any wound. It can damage tissue and also make it take longer to heal.
What you need is sea salt (not regular table salt) a glass of warm water and some q-tips. Don't forget to clean your hands before messing with your piercing. Dissolve sea salt in warm water. Dip a q-tip in and use it to clean your jewelry while it's still in your nose. Hold the jewelry still on the outside to minimize movement and irritation. If it's really stuck on there you can try soaking your nose in the water. Fyi it's gonna feel really weird. Then again with the q-tip.
If it's still not coming off turn the jewelry so the L bend is sticking out of your nose. Use tweezers to pull the boogers off the jewelry. Yep, it's gonna be as gross as it sounds. Do not forget to hold the outside part of the jewelry, super important. This will tug on the jewelry quite a bit, even with holding it, which can really irritate the fistula. Be careful and try not to do this too often with a fresh piercing.
And don't forget, always finish up by cleaning the piercing inside and out after messing with it.
