Long story short, my biological father died today. I've never met him nor seen him in the flesh. My mum and 'dad' have raised me together while bio dad has been away sowing his seed.
given the above, since hearing the news of his death I feel such sadness and emptiness. I'm upset and I don't know how/why.
My question. Will I be entitled to bereavement leave? Bearing in mind if/when the time comes my dad passed away..will I still have the right to bereavement leave then too? The typical answer is to ask work, but to complicate matters, my dad and I work at the same place..And so I don't want the truth about my biological father coming out.
Thanks in advance

well it makes sense for you to ask that i think if it was a distant relative you may not but if its for like your grandma or mom or grandma or a sibling you might qualify for it what kinda benefit guidelines does your job have it would be in your hand book as to if that qualifys you to draw to get bereavement leave
