My fiance has been unemployed for months and was just hired full time. We have been sharing cars half of the time. Usually he catches the bus to work and I pick him up. Now he wants me to loan him money to purchase a vehicle I feel is just to much money for the year and make of the car! I also planned on buying myself a vehicle so now his plans would interfere with my set plans! Am I being selfish or would I be foolish to buy a car for him!
BEING A SUPPORTIVE PARTNER OR AM I BEING FOOLISH!?

No don't lend him the money, tell him the truth, you are saving to buy a car for yourself (It is your money after all!), He is working now, why can't he buy the car himself?
Are you being selfish or foolish?
If you give him money when it doesn't feel right, then you would be foolish, as for selfish, shouldn't he be the one to look out for you?
Just ask him to give money towards your new car, then he can have the old one for the time being until he saves the money for this over-priced car he has his heart set on.
Why should he object?
