... I was in an abusive relationship and in this relationship there were 3 separate charges forassault which I refused to testify against him so he got off but with conditions of probation, no fire arms for 5 years and had to see a councillor. He continued to be abusive and the last time I filed charges and left him. The crown is now charging with assault causing bodily harm for kicking me in the face five times. I took pictures and have hospital records of the assault and I am now going to testify against him. I know maximum sentence you can receive for this charge is up to 10 years but I also know that with domestic cases rarely get any jail time. He is pleading not guilty, so my question is
a) what do you think his punishment will be, and
b) will they take the other assaults in consideration with the new charge even if he got off of them, and c) if he does get jail time how long do you think it will be for in cases like this.
