Ok, a summary and paragraph
Science has contributed much to the fields of health and medical technology. “Fewer people [in the United States] die from infectious diseases or the complications of childbirth,” says Scientific American magazine.
Few people, would prefer to go back to the comparatively crude products of yesteryear. Computers, for example, spare us tedious tasks, enable us to buy and bank conveniently online, and help us keep in touch with others by e-mail, voice mail, or video link.
“70% of couples in which both partners have cellphones contact each other daily just to say hello, 64% contact each other to coordinate schedules, and 42% of parents contact their children daily using a cellphone,” says a report in USA Today.

But some say, despite the advancements, the earth is being ruined. For those born into this situation, it seems normal, however history and even the Bible notes we are living in a crucial time. The Bible in particular calls it the "Last Days". 2 Timothy 3:1-5
Some scientists feel, we might be approaching “tipping points” where sudden and unanticipated climate changes could bring disastrous results.
