Anger is part of our emotional makeup. There are times when expressing anger in a controlled fashion may be appropriate. However, unhealthy anger, can harm us and others emotionally, physically, and spiritually. “Problem anger” as “any dysfunctional way of relating to and managing anger that persistently causes significant difficulties in a person’s life including their thinking, feeling, behaviour and relationships.”Those with anger problems bring grief not only to themselves but also to everyone around them. For someone with anger issues, even seemingly trivial matters can spark a violent outburst that brings tragic consequences. The bible says at Ephesians 4:26 " Be wrathful, but do not sin; do not let the sun set while you are still anger."
The Bible tells us: “He that is slow to anger is better than a mighty man, and he that is controlling his spirit than the one capturing a city.” (Proverbs 16:32) Instead of hastily deciding to express anger, we should consider the possible outcome of our actions. Counting to ten may prevent us from doing something that we may later regret.—Proverbs 14:17.
In some cases medication may be needed. Gaining accurate knowledge of God's view how to control anger is most beneficial. Even people in prison have been successful by practicing bible principles and have controlled their anger even while in prison and after they are release become peaceful citizens.
