Hi

I'm coming over to the US for a few months and will be driving a fair majority of the trip. I've had a look at the general road rules which all seem pretty straight forward, however one thing i'm having trouble with is uncontrolled intersections.

I live in New Zealand and i don't think I've ever come across an intersection that didn't have either a stop, give way (yield) or traffic lights.

If they are common, do i have to slow down approaching every 4 way intersection i come across that is unmarked (at least from my perspective)? In NZ you can drive down a street without worrying about traffic from adjacent streets (you may go through 10 4 way 'intersections' in the space of 30 seconds) unless you do come across a yeild/stop sign or traffic lights in which case the give way rules would apply.

I can't imagine they would be that common as that would make driving in a city which may have 30 such intersections over a short distance so inefficient as you're having to constantly slow down check, yield etc.

Appreciate the assistance.
