We would like to support and sponsor an orphanage. We are supporting foreign ones, but looking to see if there are any locally in California. Thanks.

Sweetheart i don't know the names or address of the orphanages but go online to the state of California and search for this information, I really hope this helps. If I may ask why are you seeking this.
Yes orphanage still exists in California the political correct word is Children’s Home. Try doing a search on Children’s Baptist Home of Southern California.
Children's Home Society(562) 256-7400330 Golden Shr, Long Beach, CA

I was in the Los Angeles Orphan Asylum from 1959-63. It was where life began for me. I was 12 yrs. old and had been a Ward of the Court since I was 4 years old. It is heaven on earth. Traversing the system of fostering in America, I was a maid with my clothes in paper grocery bags. I was also brought into Child Protective Care facilities throughout the bay area in California many times by a police car. Maryvale is still here with us, and children with terrible pasts are lucky as I was to get there finally. You will love them. joyce barash: thesis: "I was once a lost foster child; Now I am Found," can be ordered through the State University Library System (Sonoma state university, 1996)
What are there names and addresses? Thanks so much.
