Are the greek gods and goddesses real?

It is possible they are real. Most people have never seen other galaxies, but we believe they are there. Why ? Because scientists say so. The Egyptians described their gods vividly. So why don't we believe in them ? We choose to believe what we want to. There is a chance divine beings are real. But most people don't want to accept the possibility because it would go against everything the already believe in. Perhaps we don't worship them but instead, we should at least respect them. If they exist they are much more powerful than us. We would be peasants to Kings.

Because mythology comes from the word 'myth' which means made up, people say that its not true.. but personally, i think its true because I believe in god.... it just depends person to person and their mentality and if they believe in god or not

I know very little about Greek mythology but I am sure that each god represents a celestial being.

Divine beings are the one and only God (Allah or Father, and maybe The Void in Greek mythology), angels (Gabriel or holy spirit messenger of Allah, Michael angel of bounties like rain and crops, Uriel angel of life and Azrael angel of death managing all other angels), and another being which is called Rooh (or Spirit) in Islam which is set apart from angels in holy Quran but is believed to be to an angel anyway. His job and what he does is a mystery and according to Quran it will not be revealed until the judgement day.

Celestial beings are the planets and asteroid within the solar system which according to the Persian philosopher Mulla Sadra and many Sufis like Hafez Shirazi, have their own personality, character or soul. All these planets worship Allah and are managed by Allah's angels. The planets and asteroids in our solar system are the ones that when a person takes his first breath after he/she is born, affect our earthly characters like physical body, personality and mood characteristics and even the destiny the person has and things he must achieve before death which will determine his rank in heaven (or hell) after death as well as the ultimate life after the judgement day arrives and everybody comes alive and will see the truth with the naked eye. Of course the degree of this affect depends on the person's choices. Prayer is said to be a powerful tool which protects a person's destiny from being totally in the hands of celestial objects. When a person prays and confesses Allah to be the one and only true power, his soul is given power and protection by Allah, so much so that this person sort of becomes immune to the bad energies withing the earth, solar system and the first sky, which is this universe and sky as seen by our eyes and NASA's telescopes. That is why in Islam (the last and the most complete religion) humans are ordered to pray 5 times a day at specific times. I believe the ancient Greeks were in fact worshiping these planets and their attributes. But we are not alone in this fist sky as well as on earth. Jinns existed long before humans. They too are Allah's creatures with mind and choice like us and will be questioned and put in heaven or hell after death. Jinns and humans have different heavens but the same hell. Jinns are either muslim or are Satan's children (or grandchildren). You will not find a Christian or Jewish jinn, because they live for much longer than humans, maybe more than 1000 years, and they have seen and therefore know that these religions complete each other one after the other and are not in fact separate. Only that the Bible and Torah have been much distorted over time by their priests and rabbis who were trying to prevent people from converting to the next religion, just to gain personal advantage. Only in Quran Allah has promised that he will save Quran from being distorted like the previous books, and we see today that Quran is the only Holy text unchanged from more than 1400 years ago.

Anyways, according to Quran and Islam, the movements of the planets and everything in the 7 skies and 7 earths (including hell) are managed by those powerful angels who take orders directly from God, and by angels who work under their orders. Even the movement of winds and the pouring of rain, and the movement of the sun and the moon to bring out day and night is managed by angels. Allah says in Quran that whoever is an enemy of the angels, is indeed and enemy of mine (only Allah's enemies are meant to live in hell forever, while others with other kinds of mistakes enter heaven after spending sometime depending on the nature of their sin in hell).

I have come to believe that before the 7 skies and 7 earths were created by Allah (including the lowest sky and the first earth as we see and live on today) their concepts was created by Allah. For instance, wishes and desires and needs were conceptualized and "put" in moon, or beauty and sex in Venus and war and conflict in Mars, and potentials and talents in the sun, etc. Each of them were turbulent and at conflict with the other so Allah ordered them to obey him willingly or reluctantly and turn into the solar system which moves in harmony and according to Quran they said that they will obey Allah willingly. These planets withing which we live, still have their own tension between them and this tension and gravity is in fact granted them by Allah to hold them together. This gravity is "love" which hold everything together. Depending on a person's time of birth, planets can be friendly or opposite to each other and that's how they shape a person's characters and moods. Now these ancient Greeks were probably praying to and worshiping the characters of these planets.

Shias believe that the lights of 14 infallibles (Prophet Mohammad, his only child and daughter Fatima Zahra, and the 12 successors after the prophet) were the first divine things ever created. It is said that once Gabriel comes to Imam Ali (the 1st of the 12 successors, the prophet's cousin and Fatima's husband) and tells him: Ali, you do not remember, but you were in fact my teacher after I was created by Allah and it surprises Ali because he did not remember. Also if you read the first chapters of Nahj al-Balagha (Imam Ali's book of wisdoms), where he explains the beginning of the creation of the 7 skies and earths by Allah, it is as if he was there witnessing it. It is very interesting and many of what he (and other 11 imams) said from 1400 years ago has been proven scientifically right today which proves that Shia Islam is the only truth and right path.

According to Quran, as long as the humans existed on earth, there has always been prophets who by the order of Allah were contacted by Gabriel (said to be the closest angel to Allah) to teach humans about the truth and the one and only God who should be worshiped and not the sun or the moon or Venus or Jupiter, etc. Adam being the first prophet after he was deceived by Satan and sent to earth. He apologized for his mistake and felt deeply sorry, so Allah made him prophet. And Prophet Mohammad (apbuh) being the last prophet. Other great prophets include Noah, Ibrahim, Jesus and Moses. Mohammad was the last of 124000 prophets. Most of these prophets were killed by humans (except for Jesus Christ, who was elevated to the 4th sky).

Gabriel is believed to be the closest Angel to Allah. He was sent to Ibrahim 50 times, to Moses 400 times, to Jesus 10 times and to Mohammad 24000 times. Prophet Mohammad once asked Gabriel who always appeared to him and others like a man to show him his true form. Gabriel told him that he will not be able to handle it, but he insisted! Then the prophet saw him in his true form and the way other angels saw him which was a tall man with a shiny forehead, black eyes and 4 or 600 green pearled wings, which covered all the skies, and this made the prophet faint! The only being who is closer to Allah than Gabriel ever was Prophet Mohammad (apbuh) who was and is the most perfect human ever created (he is called the first or the perfect mind or intelligence). On the Night of Meraj, when the prophet was taken to Jeursalem and from there to the skies, where he met all the prophets and all the angels and heaven degrees and was shown the degrees of hell as well, he reached the highest point before the last veil beyond which was the closest to Allah, Gabriel told him that he cannot go further or his wings will get burned, but the prophet entered the veil and got the closest to Allah (love, intelligence) than anybody ever. The last time Gabriel was and will ever be sent to earth was before Prophet Mohammad's death where Gabriel brought him a Quranic Surah which told the Prophet that Allah had ordered him to introduce Ali Ibn Abi Taleb as the first of the 12 spiritual successors after himself and ask all muslims to follow Ali's teachings, and warn the prophet that this is very important and if he does not deliver this message of Allah, it is as if he hasn't done anything for Islam. Now Abu Bakr, an old companion of the prophet which is said to have faked his faith so that he could gain materialistic advantages, tells muslims that the prophet is sick and illusioned and he would never want a young 30 year old like Ali to become the leader of muslims. By his military power and influence he introduces himself as the leader of muslims after the prophet's death and that is how the Shia and Sunni are created within Islam and the truth (Shia) is kept in the dark still to today, until the last of the 12 successors (al-Mahdi, who is alive since 1200 years ago) will come with Jesus Christ (which Shias believe is alive and in the 4th sky) to unite and save mankind. It will hopefully happen in less than 60 years.

According to Holy Quran, after the judgement day is set and every human being is brought to life again by Uriel, God ask the four angels, were these humans (who are about to enter hell) worshiping you instead of me? And they answer, Our Lord, you are pure from flaws and you know better that they were worshiping jinns and not us. We know that many sorts of occults have always existed by people worshiping other than 1 God. Many people worshiped statues they built with their own hands. Many claimed that when they talked to these statues, they talked back to them! We know today in Islamic demonology that there is one kind of devil whose job is to answer to humans who pray to things other than Allah and deceive them into believing that they are real. So is the one deceiving mediums into believing that they are contacting the spirit of a dead person, while indeed they are contacting a demon.

So I believe the question is answered and it is what angels mean by saying that anybody worshiping anything other than Allah is indeed praying to the devil.
