Are roads in bad condition were you live? Has someone been in a accident because of it?

When I lived in Georgia they discovered that a newly paved road turned to soap when it get wet. Most of the roads outside Atlanta melted in summer temperatures. I was riding a motorcycle most of the time there, and I was always afraid of loss of traction.
