Hi! I am auditioning for my high school production of Annie. I have been told I would be a good Annie, but I am not sure. I am 4ft 10, and I look like a sixth grader to maybe a fifth grader. That is sort of my "stage age"(the age you look on stage). I have dark brown hair in which I could die red for the performance(though I have never been before), I have been in an Annie show as Molly for my private theater group. I have some experience: Annie Jr.-Molly, Into the Woods Jr.-Little Red, and Anne Frank-Diary of Annie Frank. I also understudied Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, and I can look multiple ages with a little makeup. My group also did a few songs and scenes from Matilda as a final performance since my teacher was leaving, and I played Matilda since I did the best British accent, and I looked short. I can do a little tap dance or two, but if I have the time to learn some moves, then I can. I can sing and belt out Tomorrow pretty well. My skin is also not that white, and not that tanish either(in the middle). My voice is also pretty mature for my age. What do you think? Could I make it? There are a LOT of talented kids in my school, so I was wondering if I would get it because I LOVE Annie, and I have ALWAYS wanted to be Annie. Thank you all so much for help!

Alright Annie. Now the first part where you mention your height, skin colour, hair colour e.t.c, I wouldn't worry too much about these as they are easily changed through wigs, make-up, shoes e.t.c.
Yes, you could make it. If you have to sing Tomorrow for your audition, memorise it, do the best job you can. Perform it like your life depends on it. The song is about her eternal optimism, her longing. Life for Annie has been hard, very hard, it still is. But she will always see the glass as half full. That being said, Tomorrow is also a tender moment so don't do a cheesy over the top number. (Vomiting noise.)
Basically life for Annie is a big adventure with amazing opportunities around every corner.
Good luck!
I know that this could be fixed by makeup, but the fact is that people always say that I look like I'm from Spain and I am not sure how well I would look with red hair. Other than that, thank you for your advice! Just worried that I may not look Caucasian-enough for the part. I have enough experience to play a part like her: Annie Jr., Into the Woods(Little Red), Anne Frank(Anne Frank), Ragtime(Little Girl), Narnia(Lucy), and Matilda(Matilda)-NOT the Broadway one, too old. Do you think I have enough for the part of Annie? I am also writing down all of the other orphan's roles on the part where you have to write what character your interested in, to show that I want to be in the show. For the audition, I'll try to sing Tomorrow, as if Annie is singing it to Sandy. And since people say my eyes "light up" when I sing, I'll use that. Thanks for your advice.
