Me and my friend are having a competition, in general, do you like cats or dogs better?

i think i like cats better, although it's a tight race. although dogs are loyal and sweet and cuddly, cats are really smart and are always clean and don't wet or poop in the house, and cats are also very adorable and will cuddle sometimes. and also cats will get rid of mice and rats and stuff like that.
A cat is much more willful. You play by her rules. You let her go out when she wants to go out. You be satisfied with what love she wants to show you. You don't have any expectations from her.
I might have just turned you off from ever having a cat as a pet, but if you're crazy and enjoy a pet that's a challenge, adopt a kitten today.
I hate questions like this. They are tiresome and thousands of people ask thinking they are the first to ever ask it. Its a tired old question and it causes dissension and pits cat lovers aganst dog lovers which quite often the asker means to do.
I am a cat lover and a dog lover. There should be no encouragement of one over the other. Both are wonderful pets and there should be no preference of one over the other in order to make people angry trying to prove one is better.
As statistics go, there are more cats as pets in the US but that could be easily explained by multiple cat households.
"...there are more cats than dogs in the U.S., with 86 million owned cats compared to 78 million owned dogs..."
Adopt a senior cat and never let any animal cat or dog out to wander. I don't think you've ever bonded with a cat because in my years of volunteering in rescue, fostering and owning cats I would never describe them the way you did. The only willful cats were unable to bond well with a human is because of abuse or being feral. Otherwise they are just as close and loving as can be.
