I'm 18(almost 19) and I want to see my gf that's lives in the netherlands Europe, and I'm from the US. Problem is this wouldn't only be my first international flight, but my first flight ever in general(Alone). My curiosity comes from my lack of knowledge about airports and customs. I want to make sure I'm mentally and legally prepared to make this happen. So I ask am I too young? And what would be a budget that can get me there and back? I plan to stay for about a week.(ill be staying with my gf so hotel expenses are excepted). And any tips you can give about airports or customs? Thanks, //the things people do for love -_-

hey , im actually from the netherlands :) imo i think 18 is a good age when u can start to travel, if you are underaged u need your parents permission to be able to travel alone. i myself am 16 years old, im turning 17 in februari. i have a girlfriend in france, and in februari im going to travel alone to her for the first time. if you do worry about the trip in general make sure you research a lot, on how it works, how you will go, plan really well so you can feel more comfortable about it. i think the costs to travel are quite affordable, not sure tho. from me to go from netherlands to france and back is about 50 euro
conclusion, i would say you arent too young to travel
Thanks alot dude, yeah ill definantly make sure I'm consistently planning and making sure I'm comfortable. I'm currently saving up rn, and hopefully I can make this work. Btw I wish the best for you and your gf as well><
