I am 6' 3" I weigh 280 some of it is muscle some is fat. I play football and do track and field. My average time for a mile run is 9 minutes and during track I ran 100 in 15 seconds which is garbage but noone else would do it so I had too for the team. I'm fairly athletic from football conditioning, but I am interested in playing soccer.I told some people at school and other soccer players and they all laughed at me and said I have no chance. If you were a coach or other player would you see me as too big to play soccer and if you were a coach (Focused on winning) would you give someone as big as me a chance?

I never played soccer before and I too was interested in it so I joined community soccer. My coach accepted me even though I never had any experience. As long as you're committed to going to practices and coming to games i'm sure they'll let you join the team. If you want to join, you should join. Don't care about what people say, maybe you'll be really good at it or maybe you'll be really bad at it. Who cares, it'll be a good experience.
But if you're trying out soccer at school, they would like it if you kind of knew how soccer works.
If you do join, I would recommend playing defense.
I want to play defense or maybe even goalie. I have no soccer experience though and if I don't make the team I might going rec just for experience.
Yes popruler I really do want to play, but I'm worried about me not getting a chance, I don't care about playing time since it is my first year.
