It has come to my attention recently that I keep frequently hearing things that others don’t - although, this does tend to happen more when I am alone. I will hear people calling my name, or perhaps my dog whining and go to check it out - only to find that there was nothing? Lack of sleep may be the cause, but I have been an insomniac for 10 years running now, and I’ve never had these symptoms before. It’s really inconvenient, and I keep having to check around the house constantly now, even though I know I really heard nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.

Its time to check in with your doctor about your hearing and about lack of sleep. Find out if you can get a referral to a sleep clinic. If they find out what is causing your insomnia they can fix it. Also ask about a referral to a therapist. Stress or depression may have domething to do with it. Also, prescribed and OTC meds don't always mix and can cause insomnia.
