When I'm at work and someone tells me to do something that I already know I need to do, I feel like I have to not do it their way. Even if I know it's right and I was going to anyway, I will try my best to do it in another manner. If I get to a situation where I have no choice but to do it that way, it's like I panic and get extremely angry. But if I ask for help I will take in any feedback with no problem. What is wrong with me?

You are like me, you just like to be in control of things. It's not like you do it purposely, however, its like something in your brain just doesn't agree with most people.
My mom like to say, I have a type A personality and everyone else has a type b personality. You are not crazy! You are just different from most people! Welcome to the club :D
There isn't anything wrong with you, I think that you feel angry sometimes because you feel unappreciated or underestimated at work.
Personally if I was going to do something at work because I am an organised person and I get told to do it before I do it, I get frustrated and annoyed and paranoid that they have think I have forgotten or am lazy. I think it depends on how the person says it. If they ask politely and nicely I will do it their way and politely say "yes I was just about to do that" and then I would do it their way. But if they said it rudely I would angrily respond that I was just about to do it and like you I will probs do it another way.
Next time it happens I think you should go by the tone of the persons voice when they are telling you to do something. It is annoying but I suppose we have to just take these things or say something gbut be careful not to say it in a way where we could get the sack.
