In America, "Hispanic" means everything from Texas to Guatamala plus the Carribean Islands, Spain and Portugal. "Latin" includes everything down to Tierra Del Fuego.
Also, most Americans don't know where Tierra Del Fuego is.
Strictly speaking you are not 100% hispanic if your mom is part hispanic (if the other part of her ancestry is European for example). You may be 75% hispanic or such.
