You need to get a chemistry text and memorize all the words. It takes a year and a half of chemistry classes just to learn the words, before they try to teach you any actual chemistry.
Pure water dissociates into H+ and HO- ions, one atom out of 10^7. That is written 1 x 10^-7 and then abbreviated by stating only the power of 10. That is what the p means. So for pure water, pH=7 and pOH=7. The pH and pOH always add to 14, but otherwise pOH is rarely mentioned.
There are three definitions for acids and only one is based on pH. So get into yur text and learn those three perfectly.
