Nationality, is defined as far as i am aware, the country that recognises you are a registered citizen in that country, in which you have a passport from. For example, My nationality is Australian, and have a Australian passport proving my nationality. I reside in the UK, which therefore makes me a resident of the UK (or residential alien).
Break down:
Nationality: Australian
Residence: Australian resident in the UK
Biologically: Dutch
So in essence your baby has no nationality if born in the UK (British government will deem it a A), until it is registered, by the British government. This therefore means, certain rights are prohibited, including NI numbers, health care, and other services. .

Your nationality is a kind of acceptance by a country that you have citizenship. Your child will probably have dual nationality. An English friend of mine was born in Australia, moved back here at six months of age, and has both and England and Australian passport.
