CONTEXT
There are words for individuals who are considered Superficial, Materialistic and Shallow, but NONE to describe people who only and must befriend others, solely based on them having a high education, above average intellect, upper social status, so-called "superior or respected" values and morality, etc.
HINT
These people could be/are/have...any social status, education level, religion, values, culture, morality, etc. All rick/wealthy people do not have this negative-trait.
BACKGROUND (My experience)
Most Middle-Class and Upper Middle-Class people that I've met, and who have successfully-completed a College education and posses any amount of degrees...seem to fit this description/ word that I'm looking for:
[ being arrogant, intolerant, condescending, pretentious, etc. towards people who are poor, have no or low education/ social status, or who do not hold the so-called "high or respectable" professions/ careers/ values/ morality, etc. ]
