Confused by the question. Are you looking for 4% on hour 2? (20%-16%) Or maybe looking at 46 hours to hit 100% (Gain 2% net per hour [10-8], so on hour 46 you are at 100% [2*45=90+10]) until you lose the 8% again.

The tank will be filled 10% in the first hour.In the next hour 8% of it. i.e.10&times;8/100=0.8% of the tank is emptied. The remaining water after the second hour=10-0.8=9.2%.Again in the third hour 10% tank is filled,it becomes 9.2+10=19.2%.Now again 8% of it.i.e. 19.2&times;8/100=1.536% is emptied in the fourth hour.so,the remaining water is 19.2-1.536=17.664%.
