Okay, I am new here but I need some help please.
I have a 2009 Pontiac G6 Sedan 4 cylinder that I deliver pizza in and I drive about 70 miles one way to go to my criminal justice classes in Indy. I bought it with about 1000 miles on it about a year ago and it has about 37,000 on it now. Here are some of the problems I am having with the car since about 32,000 miles.
1) The dome light sometimes doesn't come on when the driver's door is opened. 2) The driver side brake light sometimes doesn't work. 3) The key fob has been replaced 4 times because the remote start doesn't work sometimes. 4) The car feels like it is starting off in 2nd gear sometimes. 5) Today( 08/14/2010) while on delivery the car stumbled in an intersection.
Now my two main concerns are the transmission and engine. The other stuff is not that big a deal.
Here is what I have noticed with the transmission: I'm at a stop light with the A/C on so there is already a pull on the engine. The light turns green so I start to go, then have to let off the gas so the car coasts up to about 10 mph. Then I press on the gas and the car doesn't want to go anywhere. I have to put my foot to the floor just to get it to down shift so it will go. Its like its stuck in 2nd gear and doesn't want to go anywhere.
Then today the engine almost died and I had about a little less than a 1/4 of a tank left. So there was plenty of fuel.
I was just wondering if any of you have had these problems. The dealership says that this is normal for the transmission to act like that. But this problem started at about 32,000 miles I would think that if it was normal it would have done it from the day I bought it. The engine problem I am going to call the dealership on Monday and talk to them about also.
