I did this test on a quiz.
I remembered our teacher said that the theory of mind kind of equal "i know you know", and because dogs haven't evolved to have the theory of mind, answer 1and 3 should be eliminated. Although dogs have great social cognition, they do not separate themselves from their environment, they do not have self conception, so eliminate answer 4.
Why i got confused is that if a dog know that his owner know something it doesn't know
,can we assume the dog "know" others "know" something, which equal the theory of mind.
Question:When confronted with a problem it cannot solve, a dog will look back at its owner for a cue as to what to do next. This suggest that the dog:

false: knows that it has a mind of its own.
true: knows that its human owner knows things that it does not know.
false: knows that its owner has a mind.
true: knows about itself as an entity distinct from its owner.

Thank you .
