Once when I was in the pub a guy approached me and asked me for a game of darts. He said I could start on a lower starting amount then him. Long story short the amount he started me on it was impossible to finish on! I'm looking for the amount I started on cos I've forgot and would like to prank my mates. If anyone no's the answer to this or a similar prank then let me no please. Thank you

There's no such amount. In darts you have to finish on a double if you throw an amount that will not let you finish on a double that throw is voided and you have to wait for your next turn. The only way this can happen is if the number remaining will be a one. For example if you had 15 remaining and threw a double 7 (accidentally say) that would leave 1, the throw would be voided and you'd have to wait for your next turn.
Because you work down from 301 or 501 (normally) towards zero there is no such thing as a number that makes finishing impossible. The lowest number you can get to is 3 and you are then forced to throw a 1 followed by a double 1 to finish. Anything else will automatically be counted a failed throw.
