I'm a freshman in high school and all I've been thinking about lately is college. I've always dreamed of going to college and still do. However in the past (middle school) my grades weren't very high seeing as I really did not care about anything that went on in middle school. I still managed to get by with an A or two and a few B's and maybe a C here and there. Now that I'm in high school I've been taking things much more seriously. It's the end of the first quarter and I've ended it with straight A's (however most of them are 90's and two are 93. So I have an A in 5 standard classes. Those classes being geography, biology, algebra, French, and English. (I should also add that I attend a private school) I know this is incredibly far fetched, but my dream college has always been Stanford. Could someone explain to me a bit how getting into college works or maybe now getting into Stanford works? I want to go to a good school for Software Engineering/Computer science and I rather be in California if possible. Lately I've been feeling down though because I read that Stanford has the lowest acceptance rate of all colleges in the U.S. with what I have now, do I even have a chance? I should also add that I hate sports therefore I have no participation within the sports community at my school. However I do work the scoreboard/broadcast at the football games, I work the audio/lights/video in the theatre, as well as participate in school filming sessions for things such as website ads (for the school) or just class projects. (The class is called production which encompasses everything involving behind the scenes theatre and film) unfortunately my school has literally nothing to offer in the computer field other than a typing class which I'm already great at anyway. (Not like it matters though) that's pretty much all I can think of off the top of my head. I'd love some good answers.

Please excuse typos, I typed this on my phone.
