When a body enters a fluid it displaces an equal volume of liquid. If that volume of liquid weighs less than the body, the body sinks. If the weights are equal, the body floats.
All the fluid (meaning air or water, usually) above a point presses down on that point, and all the fluid below that point presses up with an equal force. A point at the bottom of the body has more pressure pushing up than at the top, and the difference of those two forces is the buoyant force. IOW if the body floats, the buoyant force is equal to its weight. You still have to figure out what the weight is.
