It's not possible for you to track the clicks on a per-user basis. What you could do is to create niche ads targeting at a ultra-micro level so that you know that the clicks came from say, "lawyers working with ABC from New York"
Also, LinkedIn, for me, has hardly given any returns whatsoever. I would avoid it as much as possible.
Tracking the profile IDs of LinkedIn PPC (Pay-Per-Click) visitors can be challenging due to privacy policies and data protection regulations that LinkedIn adheres to. However, you can use various techniques to gain insights into your LinkedIn ad performance and understand your audience better. Here are some methods to track and analyze LinkedIn PPC visitors:
LinkedIn Insight Tag:
The LinkedIn Insight Tag is a piece of JavaScript code that you can add to your website to track conversions, retarget website visitors, and gain deeper insights into how visitors interact with your website.
To set it up:
Go to the LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
Navigate to the "Account Assets" tab and select "Insight Tag."
Click on "Install my Insight Tag" and follow the instructions to add the tag to your website.
Once installed, you can track various metrics such as conversions and page views.
UTM Parameters:
Use UTM parameters to track the source of your traffic from LinkedIn ads.
Add UTM tags to your LinkedIn ad URLs, such as ?utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=your_campaign_name.
This allows you to see detailed information in Google Analytics about how visitors interact with your site after clicking your LinkedIn ads.
LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms:
Use LinkedIn's Lead Gen Forms to collect information directly from your ads without requiring users to leave LinkedIn.
When users fill out a Lead Gen Form, you can collect information such as name, email, job title, and more.
CRM Integration:
Integrate LinkedIn with your CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to track and manage leads generated from LinkedIn ads.
LinkedIn offers native integrations with various CRM platforms, which can help you track lead interactions and conversions.
LinkedIn Matched Audiences:
Use Matched Audiences to retarget website visitors, create custom audiences based on your CRM data, or target LinkedIn members based on their engagement with your LinkedIn content.
This helps you understand the profile of visitors who have interacted with your website after clicking on your LinkedIn ads.
Custom Reporting and Analytics:
Use LinkedIn’s analytics and reporting tools in the Campaign Manager to track the performance of your ads.
You can see metrics such as clicks, impressions, conversions, and demographic information about the audience engaging with your ads.
Privacy Considerations:
Keep in mind that tracking individual LinkedIn profile IDs directly might violate LinkedIn's terms of service and privacy policies. Always ensure that your tracking methods comply with relevant data protection regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
By leveraging these tools and techniques, you can effectively track and analyze the performance of your LinkedIn PPC campaigns, gaining valuable insights into your audience and optimizing your ad strategy accordingly.
