She is a small dog about 9lbs and he is about the same. I am really worried about how many puppies she will have. Is she too small to have babies? Both of them are in good health but I am still worried.

I'd recommend taking your questions to a trained veterinarian instead of the internet masses. I'd be concerned more about the age of your Pompoo than her weight, she sounds a healthy weight for a toy/small dog but 5 years for a first time pregnancy is going to be an unusual and possibly stressful experience for her. Dogs become sexually mature by 1 year of age but only socially mature at about 2 years, it is advised that dogs used for breeding do not breed beyond their 7th year. I don't want to concern you anymore though, I think you're dog should be okay but give her full support and find a vet to guide you through the entire pregnancy.
Anyways, both breeds have different average litter sizes so you could expect somewhere between 3-6 puppies, this is only averages and could be way off. Another way to get an idea of litter sizes is to find out how big the litter your dog came from was (in other words, family history/her mother's litter size), and possibly any other litters the bitch may have produced (this is easiest if you got your dog from a professional breeder).
In short, ask your vet and before long they will be able to tell you exactly how many puppies your dog is carrying, you can get an ultrasound. Good luck :)
