My kitten is 5 months old. About 4 days ago he started vomiting up his food. I assumed it was a bad batch of food and that he had a sensitive stomach. The next day when he wouldn't eat or drink I took him to the vet. The vet felt no obstruction and no string. She thought that it was probably the food since I switched my cat on a different food so fast. She gave him a shot of cerenia and some fluids. It seemed after that Felix was fine. He was drinking and eating fine. Two days later, he started vomiting again. I took him back to the vet. This time, however, when he was puking I saw a few specs of hair. I told the vet this and she told me it was probably a hairball in the stomach since she found nothing in the intestines. She gave me laxtone and did another shot of cerenia. She also gave me some cerenia pills to use later. She also put Felix on a prescription i/d diet since it could very well be a sensitive stomach.
A few hours after the vet, I gave Felix some laxtone. He licked some but not all. Since that laxone he has ate and drank nothing. I got a syringe to force him to drink some water and a syringe to make him eat some food. So far I have gotten 2 1/2 teaspoons of food in him. I should mention that before I did this he was acting like he wanted to throw up but couldn't (probably because of the cerenia) His coat is also not as nice as it usually is.
My question is...what should I do now? Should I keep force feeding him?
