why do humans find it funny or comical when a person gets hurt? like falling on a cincrrte sidewalk or wiping out on a bike or a pool dive gone wrong.

Because to many people there is just something inherently funny about people getting hurt, especially if they brought it on themselves from doing something that is obviously stupid.
Of course, it is a spectrum with some people having a crueler sense of humor than others. Like I imagine a lot of people will laugh at a teenage boy or man thinking it is a good idea to stick a lit firework in their bum (yes there are people who are stupid enough to have done this) with the result we all expected. However, at the other end of the spectrum you have those who have a very cruel sense of humor and find young children getting hurt funny.
This is not true for everyone however, there are actually wholesome and kind and compassionate people who will chastise others for finding people getting hurt funny and may actually run over to help the hurt person.
