I recently moved 10 hours away from my boyfriend to live with my dad and try out a new university. Turns out my dad left me yet again, so I’ve lived with my brother and his family for the last 3 months. I decided to move in with my brother as he lived close to the University i changed to as well.
3 months on, I have decided that studying engineering is not what i want to do, so I left uni.
Currently looking for a full time job with no luck.
Here’s where i need advice - I have a job and a boyfriend waiting for me back where I used to live. My boyfriend would never move up here with me.
Or I can continue to live at my brothers and hopefully secure a job soon. I really do like the area I am living in now.
My boyfriend and I have been together for 4 years but he’s all I’ve ever known and I’m all that he’s ever known. He is a good guy and i know no relationship is perfect.
What would you do?

Why won't your bf move?
What do you mean by your brother's family - are you referring to wife & kids, or relatives (aren't they your family too)?
Probably, a major factor in the decision is how pressed you are for cash. What your long term goals are. Were your raised with this brother, would his dwelling invitation be extended indefinitely? How do you feel about your prior job - presumably, you left it to advance through studies, beside the sordid episode with your absconding father?
Well, luna, I believe there is more to this dilemma than a binary choice. "Lost without a goal" is a difficult state to overcome, in my experience. I
My bf is a homebody and doesn’t want to move away from his family, which I understand.
You’re right, my brothers family is mine as well. I just meant his wife and kids.
I’m not pressed for cash if I sell my car and get something cheaper.
I have no long term goals, my only goal is to get a job right now. I’m lost.
I don’t like my prior job, it’s very depressing work. The staff are nice but the clients are not.
