We recently purchased a 2015 van from a dealer in Ottawa. Drove it off and lot and onto the highway and as I was gearing up it gave a thud (hard enough i thought someone hit us on the highway). Took it back and they looked at it. Said it was an electrical problem, they fixed that but didnt fix the shift in the transmission. After lots of fighting they agreed to replace the transmission or replace the vehicle. Now they are refusing to replace the van AND the transmission is on "back order" with no date of install. As our 30day return is coming close to an end we are wondering if we have any options at this point or should we walk away. Should something like this not have shown up on their Safety? Should they not be bending over backwards to help us as they sold us a van with bugger transmission? Is there someone we should be reporting them too?

Was there a contract signed? If so , they are going against it by not allowing you to return the van , or giving you a refund. It is all about what you can prove.Take pictures. Get proof you paid. Make notes of what happened. Gather all of the legal documentation and proof of purchase. Then, make a decision before the 30 days is up. I would just say , you do not want the van and you want your $$$ back. Even if they are working on it, say I do not want it. If they don't agree to your request, take them to small claims court. They breached their contract therefore you are entilted to your money back. For free courts in America try calling Judge Judy, Peoples Court ect. They are free courts and most of them are in NYC. Otherwise call a lawyer that ha free consulataions and sue them, Hope it all works out. Sorry about your van. In the future always look under the hood of the car, and bring someone with you who knows about cars. Good Luck
