18th birthday?

Question

So I will be turning 18 in a few months, and I want to throw a party. 
( with around 25-30 persons( including my family)
So the questions are:

1. I want to have both my family and my friends to the party, but I don't know how to do it.
Cause you know in a way I want to be only with my friends , cause we are teenagers and crazy "kids" , and if my family will be there too, well....it will be different. Cause you know we all have 2 different attitudes when we are around with friends or with family....and my friends will be intimidated i don't know... But in other way, I want my family to be there .........Cause only once in life you turn 18, so I want both my family and my friends to be there...! but I don't know what to do, HOW to do. 
I was thinking that they could come until 00:00 o'clock, when they will bring the birthday cake and bla bla,  and after they could leave. But i don't know. 
Any ideas???!!?!

Have a family party on one day, your actual birthday, and then have a party out with your friends another day or later that same day in the evening. Problem solved.

Why not have your family over for brunch and do the whole thing with them during the day, (so like 11:00-16:00 or so) and have friends over at 17:00-22:00 or however late your parents are comfortable with. That's plenty of time for everybody to party with you and it comfortably separates the two groups. If your worried about food and stuff for afternoon and evening you'd be surprised how easy it can be with some planning. Start researching catering companies or easy recipes for good prices and or minimal prep time.
