Should the US have fought the Vietnam War?

The U.S. became involved in the Vietnam War in the late 1950s for several reasons. They entered the war by sending money, supplies, and military advisers to help the South Vietnamese Government.
Their involvement in the Vietnam war was beneficial in the view that they brought an end to communism in Vietnam by helping p[preserve American pride as well as associated with economic interests, national fears, and geopolitical strategies.
