Horoscopes are based on astrology. Astrologers say that, to be completely accurate, a horoscope must be based upon the position of the heavenly bodies at the exact time and location of an individual’s birth.
Believers in astrology will cite examples to prove the reliability of individually cast horoscopes. But they must admit that at times astrologers have made serious errors in “reading the stars.” And they can’t agree whether the time and location of a person’s BIRTH or of CONCEPTION should be used in casting a horoscope. The time difference could be nine months!
“The American People’s Encyclopedia” explains: “Astrology . . . was highly respected as a means of ascertaining the will of the gods and of discovering the future destiny of individuals and nations. However, on the other hand, a group of leading English astrologers in 1939, when the nations were on the brink of world war, assured their followers that, according to astrological signs, no war was imminent.
Those that ‘studied the stars’ utterly failed to provide reliable guidance—and that when the nation faced a disastrous end. Could the use of a horoscope likewise fail you?
Even now people look to the creation rather then the one who created it. Yet for more then 2,000 years these same people have prayed for God's Kingdom to come. Is it in the Stars for that to happen or is the answer in the Bible. (Ref jw.org ) Astrology
Astrology has been rejected by the scientific community as having no explanatory power for describing the universe. Scientific testing has found no evidence to support the premises or purported effects outlined in astrological traditions. Where astrology has made falsifiable predictions, it has been falsified.
Crystal gazing has been dismissed by established researchers as having no logical power for depicting the universe. Logical testing has tracked down no proof to help the premises or implied impacts illustrated in celestial practices. Where soothsaying has made falsifiable expectations, it has been misrepresented.
According to astrological theories, horoscopes use celestial positions to forecast personality traits and future events. Their veracity is, however, hotly contested. Since no empirical studies consistently demonstrate their predictive power, there is little scientific evidence to back up their claims. The Barnum effect frequently occurs when people mistakenly believe ambiguous statements to be true based on their own interpretation. Horoscopes can be entertaining and provide broad insights, but it is still unclear whether they can accurately predict particular events or traits.
