I see that there are primary and secondary social groups but do parents fit in a social group? I know races are one, not sure about children either...

A lot of parents, especially mothers often form these parent groups with other parents where they discuss parenting methods, give advice about caring for and raising their children and review childcare products.
In that instance, I would say yes they are a social group because they are parents forming a social group with other parents where they mostly discuss things related directly to parenting and children.
However, there are some parents that aren't in any of these parent groups, so I guess no for those parents.
